Purpose. Possibility. Mastery.

I grew up in a family business. My father cared about the well-being of family, employees, and community; the business was instrumental to each of these.  He was successful because he applied his smarts through hard work and focus.  He also regularly walked the plant floor to talk with people on their turf.  With this important gesture, he regularly showed people that he cared about their well-being.  As a result, employees exhibited a deep commitment to my father and his leadership.  As a kid, I was impacted by my dad's values and his approach to running the business.

After graduating from high school in Central Wisconsin, I attended the University of Notre Dame (B.A., Government & International Studies) and then worked for several years in human services in and around Washington, D.C.  Later, I earned an M.Ed. in Social Foundations of Education from the University of Virginia.  Along the way, I discovered a knack for helping people talk about challenging interpersonal issues that go to the core of trust, conflict, responsibility, and accountability.

These days, I help clients develop high-trust cultures where people step up to difficult conversations and realize amazing gains in performance and profitability.  I bring insights gained from 20 years of experience in talent management, organizational development, and leadership coaching.

Away from work, my wife Christine and I strive to practice what we preach while we ski, mountain bike, cook, and in all ways enjoy life with our 3 amazing children!
